State-of-the-Art Technology
Vision Source doctors are on the leading edge of eye health care technology.
Due to the size of the Vision Source network and the prestige of our members, manufacturers often look to Vision Source doctors first to introduce new instruments and diagnostic equipment.
Some examples of the cutting edge technology found at Vision Source member practices include:
Digital Retinal Imaging
Digital retinal imaging utilizes a high-resolution imaging system to provide a wide-angle view of the back of the eye. Your Vision Source doctor examines the image to look for abnormalities that could indicate eye health conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma or diabetic eye disease. Typically this procedure requires no dilation.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
OCT allows your Vision Source doctor to effectively see a three-dimensional cross-section of the tissue of the eye. By examining the layers of this image, your doctor can see indications of vision problems that would not normally be visible, resulting in early diagnosis and treatment.
Because every Vision Source member practice is independently owned and operated, the availability of some new instruments and diagnostic equipment may vary.
