Ted McElroy, O.D.

Dr. McElroy founded his practice in 1994 in Tifton, GA. He became a Vision Source member in 2002 and officially changed the name of the practice to Vision Source Tifton in 2011. In 2004 he served as the Georgia Optometric Association President and in 2016 as President for SECO International. Ted was the recipient of the 1997 GA Optometric Association’s Young Optometrist of the Year, the 2005 GOA Optometrist of the year and the 2009 GOA Bernard Kahn Award Recipient. He is currently the GOA Trustee for the 2nd and 3rd district of GA and is the Chairman for SECO International’s MedPRO 360 committee, a program committed to bring practice management education to all of health care.
Dr. McElroy enjoys speaking to optometric students on the joys of private practice and assisting aspiring private practice owners. In addition to serving as an administrator, Ted is on the Vision Source Speakers’ Bureau. He has served on the Speakers’ Bureaus for LeadershipOD, Alcon, CibaVision and VSP’s Student Private Practice Club Speakers’ Bureau. Ted is an author published in Invision and Optometric Management, has also served on the Optometric Management editorial board.
