Vision Source® Ranks Second in the 2015 Vision Monday Top 50 List
Leading alliance acknowledged for nationwide sales for the second consecutive year
KINGWOOD, Texas May 18, 2015 – North America’s largest network of independent optometrists, Vision Source, has achieved the second highest ranking in Vision Monday’s exclusive listing of the Top 50 U.S Optical Retailers for the second consecutive year. The Vision Monday annual report highlights the industry’s leading organizations. This announcement marks Vision Source’s second appearance on the list with a collective $2.2 billion in revenue spanning more than 3,000 locations in the 2014 calendar year. With growth of 12%, Vision Source enjoyed the highest rate amongst the top three organizations on the list. Luxottica Retail placed number one at $2.3 billion and Wal-Mart Stores placed third on the list.
There are some driving forces behind the Vision Source momentum. In 2015, Vision Source began offering a new optical edutainment program to its membership called The Optical Dream. The Optical Dream, which is focused on increasing patient satisfaction through optical sales training, has already proven to have significantly increased revenue in participating practices.
Another point of differentiation is the team of 170 Vision Source administrators / doctors that lead on a local basis, providing support, mentorship, and consultation on a daily basis. Additionally, The Vision Source Member Support Center, located in Kingwood, Texas provides solutions and infrastructure which serves independent optometrists and unites the growing membership by providing unique vision and innovative business resources, ensuring member onboarding, engagement and success.
“It is an honor to be recognized by Vision Monday for the second year as the second largest optical retailer. In a dually challenging era of rapidly evolving integrated health care systems and an increasingly competitive optical retail business model, it is our number one goal to equip the Vision Source network to address these challenges. The Optical Dream has been embraced by our optometrists and their office staff and is positioned to deliver a revolutionary impact on our practices. We now have relationships with integrated healthcare systems in dozens of markets, we continue to facilitate patient access to innovative vision care through our nearly 4,000 optometric clinicians, with improved patient satisfaction and medical outcomes as priority one,” commented Jim Greenwood, Vision Source President and CEO.
