Vision Source and Arkansas Health Group Announce New Relationship
Innovative, collaborative eye care will now be offered to AHG patients in Arkansas
KINGWOOD, Texas (June 22, 2015) – North America’s largest, independent optometric alliance Vision Source announced today that it has entered into a relationship with Arkansas Health Group, a Baptist Health affiliate to provide eye health and vision services to their patient base. This arrangement is designed to deliver improved outcomes for the patients of both organizations.
Arkansas Health Group, a division of Baptist Health, is a physician group practice designed to better position physicians for healthcare delivery of the future. As the first organization of its kind in the state, the vision for Arkansas Health Group is to offer cost-effective, quality care and superior clinical outcomes through physician governance, with support of the state's largest healthcare system. Patients, employers, and managed care providers are seeking the cost savings, depth of service and quality care which an integrated healthcare system, such as BAPTIST HEALTH, can provide. As part of this network of care, Arkansas Health Group offers a solid foundation of financial, technical, and professional support for its physician partners including well-staffed and equipped clinics that promote excellent patient care.
“As healthcare systems evolve from the traditional fee-for-service reimbursement model, to one where high performing networks of clinicians collaborate in a seamless manner, the Vision Source network of independent optometrists is becoming an important part of the solution. We are very excited about teaming with Arkansas Health Group’s 48 doctors at 19 locations, as they collaborate with our network of 49 locations and 68 clinicians in Arkansas. Together, we will provide cost-effective care, disease detection and management as we will proactively and successfully manage the health issues that crossover between general practitioners and optometrists,” said Jim Greenwood, President and CEO of Vision Source.
“Joining forces with Vision Source allows us to offer an innovative approach to collaborative care as we make it more accessible to our growing patient base,” says Will Rusher, CEO of Arkansas Health Group. “The Vision Source network of optometric clinicians are some of the most prestigious and innovative in the country and at Arkansas Health Group, this relationship will enable us to further enhance the high-quality, comprehensive care that every patient deserves.”
