Five Vision Source doctors were among the 20 inducted as board certified Fellows of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. Kory Thoma, OD, of Cape Girardeau, MO, was recently inducted in the Columbia College Basketball Hall of Fame in Columbia, MO.
Paul Berman, OD, of Hillsdale, NJ, founder and senior global clinical adviser of Special Olympics Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes, was honored at the White House as one of 11 champions of Change. Dr. Berman is working on the Lions Lens project in partnership with Essilor, which will provide high-quality, low-cost eyeglasses for Lions’ humanitarian purposes worldwide.
David Brewer, OD, of Yukon, was inducted into the Pioneers in Oklahoma Optometry Hall of Fame. At right, Dr. Brewer is with Vision Source member Travis Yadon, OD, of Oklahoma City.
Kelly Kerksick, OD, of Columbia, IL, Vision Source director of professional services, was awarded the Young Alumni Award from Southern College of Optometry in October.
David May, OD, of Waunakee, was honored as 2012 Optometrist of the Year by the Wisconsin Optometric Association.
Chad Hudnall, OD, of Grand Island has been elected president of the Nebraska Optometric Association, and John Crotty, OD, of Auburn, was named the association’s Keyperson of the Year.
James Eickhoff, OD, of Reistertown, was awarded the Mel Waxman Award for distinguished service by the Maryland Optometric Association
